You will have the ability to lead a team of support assistants and develop their roles and expertise. We want someone who is willing to fully commit to the development of the children at Windrush.

Windrush Music Co-ordinator and Teacher

To start April/September 2020

(MPS depending on qualifications and experience)

Music and singing are at the heart of Windrush Primary School. We are looking for a fun, vibrant music teacher who will share their love of music with the children through their experience both as a musician and music educator. Your role will require you to work 3 days a week across both our schools sites. We are a split-site, four form entry school based in Thamesmead (1 form entry) and Charlton (3 form entry). We have been graded as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for the last 12 years.

 Your role as Music teacher at Windrush would involve:

  • Undertaking singing assemblies and promoting the love of singing across various genres throughout the school
  • Developing, delivering and promoting the music curriculum across all year groups
  • Overseeing the development of the school band
  • Organising school community music performances throughout the year
  • Leading both school choirs and taking part in Greenwich borough festivals
  • Leading a team of talented musicians who deliver whole class instrumental lessons to year 3 and also teach peripatetic music lesson to up to 90 children throughout the school.
